On October 1, 2026, Dr. Claudia Mika, Founder and CEO of Temos International Healthcare Accreditation, participated in the Moldova Health Economy Forum 2026 at Summit Events in Chișinău. Held as part of Moldova Business Week 2026, the forum brought together approximately 100 experts from the public and private sectors, including representatives from ministries responsible for health, tourism, and trade, to discuss the development of Moldova’s health economy and its potential for international growth.

The forum addressed several key areas, including medical tourism, the export of healthcare services, pharmaceutical investment, healthcare financing, and medical infrastructure development. Discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen Moldova’s competitiveness and expand its presence in international healthcare markets. The event also provided a platform for exchanging perspectives on how cooperation between the public and private sectors can support the development of healthcare services and related economic opportunities.

Dr. Claudia Mika contributed to the session on medical tourism with her presentation, “Trust Through Certification.” She highlighted the role of international accreditation in supporting healthcare quality, patient safety, and trust, while helping healthcare providers demonstrate their commitment to recognized standards. Her presentation emphasized the importance of independent verification in giving international patients, referring physicians, insurers, and health authorities greater confidence when evaluating healthcare providers across borders.

Another important focus was the entire international patient journey, from preparation and communication before arrival to culturally appropriate care during treatment and continuity of care after returning home. These considerations underline the importance of looking beyond the treatment itself when developing international healthcare services. Temos International was pleased to contribute to the forum and share its perspective on how accreditation and international quality standards can support trust, transparency, and the continued development of cross border healthcare.
