Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC)
Temos International is pleased to introduce the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), a valued strategic partner with a longstanding role in the development of the global healthcare travel sector.
Founded in 2013 in Monte Carlo, GHTC was established to support, represent, and promote healthcare travel and medical tourism worldwide. The Council brings together national healthcare travel councils, associations, healthcare organizations, and other industry stakeholders to encourage international cooperation and contribute to the growth of the sector.
GHTC serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, research, strategic discussion, and collaboration among healthcare travel leaders. Its work focuses on representing the interests of the industry, strengthening cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders, and addressing issues that influence the development of healthcare travel.
Temos International and GHTC have formalized a Strategic Partnership Agreement to support quality, safety, and transparency in international healthcare. Through this collaboration, GHTC members can benefit from Temos International’s internationally recognized accreditation programs, including Quality in Medical Care and Excellence in Medical Tourism, with discounted fees offered exclusively to GHTC members.
The partnership brings together GHTC’s international network and industry expertise with Temos International’s experience in healthcare quality assurance and accreditation. The shared goal is to support healthcare organizations in maintaining consistent quality standards and providing international patients with a safe and reliable healthcare experience.
The cooperation is further strengthened by the Temos International CEO, Dr. Claudia Mika, serving as a member of the GHTC Board, supporting close communication and alignment between the two organizations.

Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI)
Temos International is honored to feature the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), an important partner in advancing healthcare quality, patient safety, and excellence in medical tourism in Saudi Arabia.
CBAHI is the official agency authorized to grant accreditation certificates to governmental and private healthcare facilities operating in Saudi Arabia. Emerging from the Saudi Health Council as a nonprofit organization, CBAHI establishes healthcare quality and patient safety standards against which healthcare facilities are evaluated for compliance. Its accreditation framework supports healthcare facilities in maintaining consistent standards and promoting continuous improvement in healthcare services.
On 7 May 2026, Temos International and CBAHI officially launched the Joint Medical Tourism Accreditation Program at International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The launch marked an important step toward strengthening healthcare quality, patient safety, and excellence in medical tourism across the Kingdom. It brought together leading healthcare representatives, including Dr. Walid Ahmed Fitaihi, Founder and CEO of International Medical Center, Dr. Salem Abdullah Alwahabi, Director General of CBAHI, and Dr. Claudia Mika, CEO of Temos International, alongside international experts and healthcare stakeholders.
As the first healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia to begin the joint accreditation journey, International Medical Center demonstrated its commitment to enhancing international patient services and pursuing excellence in healthcare and medical tourism.
The joint program combines CBAHI’s national expertise in healthcare accreditation and patient safety with Temos International’s international experience in medical tourism accreditation. Through this collaboration, healthcare facilities can pursue high standards of international patient care, governance, and sustainable excellence in medical tourism. Accredited facilities also receive a special “Temos-accredited – Endorsed by CBAHI” certificate.
The partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a leading global destination for medical tourism in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. By combining national healthcare standards with international medical tourism expertise, CBAHI and Temos International are working together to support a safe, high-quality, and reliable experience for international patients.

General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR)
Temos International is proud to work with the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR), an important partner in advancing healthcare quality, patient safety, and excellence in medical tourism in Egypt.
GAHAR is a public service authority operating under the direct supervision of the President of the Republic. It is responsible for ensuring the quality of healthcare services, supporting continuous improvement, and regulating the healthcare sector according to established quality standards.
As Egypt’s healthcare accreditation and regulatory authority, GAHAR accredits healthcare facilities according to its standards and monitors their application to support consistent quality and sustainability. Its standards reflect the latest developments in global quality and safety, with patient safety at the core of its goals and objectives.
Temos International and GAHAR have established a joint approach combining Temos International’s international standards and expertise in medical tourism with GAHAR’s national healthcare quality and accreditation framework. Through the Temos GAHAR framework, healthcare facilities can work toward meeting both GAHAR’s national healthcare standards and Temos International’s international standards for medical tourism. GAHAR-accredited organizations benefit from a reduced number of Temos standards and a reduced accreditation fee.
The cooperation also extends to education and professional development. Temos International values its partnership with the International Assistance Group (IAG), a global alliance whose network and expertise in assistance services support access to quality healthcare for travelers and expatriates around the world.
The International Assistance Group is the world’s largest alliance of more than 160 independent assistance companies, service providers, and correspondents dedicated to global assistance services, industry collaboration, and sustainability. The network combines shared global values and collective expertise with local market and cultural knowledge.
Temos International and IAG work together to connect IAG’s worldwide network of independent assistance companies with healthcare facilities accredited by Temos International for their quality of care and services for international patients. A key element of the partnership is the inclusion of Temos-accredited hospitals and clinics in the IAG service database, giving IAG partners access to healthcare facilities that have undergone Temos International’s accreditation process and meet applicable requirements for quality and patient safety.
