Temos International is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) to strengthen cooperation in health care quality and accreditation and support the development of medical tourism in Egypt. The MoU was signed by Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of GAHAR, and Dr. Claudia Mika, CEO of Temos International, on the sidelines of the 42nd International Conference for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), held in Dublin, Ireland.

Dr. Ahmed Taha emphasized that the collaboration with Temos International aligns with GAHAR’s strategic direction to expand international partnerships and leverage specialized expertise. The collaboration will support the exchange of international expertise and best practices, capacity building, training, workshops, and scientific events in health care quality and accreditation. It also aims to support Egyptian health care facilities in strengthening their readiness to care for international patients, with a focus on quality, safety, patient experience, and continuity of care.

Through this cooperation, GAHAR accredited health care facilities seeking Temos accreditation for medical tourism may benefit from a complementary assessment approach that builds on the foundation of GAHAR’s national accreditation requirements while incorporating specialized considerations for international patient services. This synergy enhances the ability of Egyptian facilities to compete in the global health care market. The partnership brings together GAHAR’s national accreditation framework and Temos International’s expertise in medical tourism and international patient care, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and the continued development of health care quality in Egypt.

Dr. Claudia Mika praised GAHAR’s progress in developing the Egyptian health care accreditation system and highlighted the value of combining national quality frameworks with specialized international expertise to support health care organizations serving patients from around the world. Together, GAHAR and Temos International are strengthening cooperation in health care quality and accreditation while supporting Egypt’s continued development as a destination for high quality medical tourism.
