Established in 2010 as a spin-off of a European research project, Temos has become a pivotal German-based international accreditation body under her leadership. Her unwavering commitment to advancing accreditation standards is evident in her extensive work assessing hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, reproductive care centers, and dental clinics worldwide.
Her global footprint in healthcare extends from Brazil to the Philippines, where she has actively contributed to developing quality management systems and risk management programs. Her hands-on approach involves direct participation in the accreditation process, sharing her expertise in Continuous Quality Improvement. This commitment is reflected in the accreditation standards, emphasizing quality outcomes, governance, leadership, patient safety, risk reduction, and the overall patient experience.
Before founding Temos, she spent 16 years managing international projects at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Dr. Mika's influence extends beyond Temos as she advises associations and governmental institutions on quality-related topics, patient experience, risk management, medical tourism, and international patient management.
In 2019, she successfully spearheaded the rigorous process of submitting Temos standards for accreditation by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua now known as IEEA), followed by the accreditation of Temos as an accreditation body and its assessors’ training program to firmly cement Temos’ place among the world’s elite international accreditation organizations. Notably, in 2020, she and her expert team developed standards to mitigate COVID-19 transmission risks in healthcare settings, showcasing adaptability to contemporary challenges.
Her dedication to medical tourism standards is evident through over 150 presentations, workshops, and onsite accreditations conducted since 2018 in more than 25 countries.
